  Cromwell Self Serve is my last chance for a stop for milk, etc in my commute to and from Duluth and Tamarack area. I have stopped here regularly for 20 years, even when it was just the co-op.
  
  Today, their network is down so I can't use my debit card. Checks or cash only. No problem I'll write a check. I've always written checks here until debit cards became more convenient.
  
  She tells me I can only write a check if I live in Cromwell. 12 miles up the road is not local enough for them. They couldn't make an exception on a day when their network is down and I am twenty miles from the next gas station.
  
  Thank goodness I accidentally parked at the pre-pay pump so had no gas to pay for.
  
  I will no longer include this store in my plans when I need to stop for gas or milk to and from work any more.

  CSS is convenient and is a lot closer than cloquet it costs a little more but is worth not having to drive further.....the pizza with garlic sauce is spot on!;;
